Wednesday 23 October 2019 - Another challenging Day
Mindset challenge in upper gear at the moment.
Another challenging session. But with Daren's patience and perseverance we came up with a plan of what to get the kids to do. Thanks to Antony, we found the steps in one of the documents.
We have decided to have a plastic sleeve for each child. In it we will be having what they have to achieve.
The challenge for me as a teacher is finding the time to actually run through the units and get my head around each unit. I really want to be able to do this but time constraints are making it challenging.
Why are we doing this? I am just feeling that we don't really have a goal necessarily. I understand that things can change paths but feel that there needs to be more structure - what are we wanting the children to try and learn. For all other curriculum areas we have LIs and Scs. But not for this. How does this fit in with the curriculum?
Sorry James - definitely not your star pupil - the one in the classroom that says they can't do it. But I wont give up.
Students Steps:
1) Tutorial and followed that. - clicked on to scratch, clicked on ideas and chose a tutorial.
2) 10 Block challenge
3) Blogging answering the questions put on the board for them.

It's awesome that you, Antony and Daren are working together to find a way forward. There will be links to the curriculum and they will appear more obvious as you progress. This is the first phase of exploration and discovery. Over time it will come together and you will be able to make links not only with the Technology Curriculum but also the wider curriculum and the key competencies.
